Plaster Relief Sculpting
Join Rebecca Gilling for an extended lime plaster relief sculpture demonstration on Friday afternoon. Please feel free to drop in anytime between 1-4pm and see Rebecca working on a live project at 2075 Upland Ave. in Boulder, CO. Note this is the “front” property adjacent to the Straw & Adobe Cottage on the home tour. Stay for as little or as long as you like. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the process and watch the sculpture develop. The lime-based work will be installed on an existing cement stucco exterior wall.

Rebecca is a craftswoman, artist and natural builder who is on a mission to promote the use of natural materials in art, events and the built environment. Her work is mainly focused on sculptural and decorative plasterwork using clay and lime but is as diverse as structures and buildings, furniture and large scale land art.
Rebecca recently completed the Prince’s Foundation’s Building Craft Program, where she spent time working with master craftspeople and traditional plasterers around the UK. She has also created natural building art further afield whilst in Costa Rica, so has learned from and practiced with a lot of different people and materials. She is now based in Devon where she is a practicing clay and lime plasterer and decorative plaster artist.
