2023 ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATURAL BUILDING CONFERENCE
We would like to thank everyone who attended the 2023 Rocky Mountain Natural Building Conference, including the presenters who shared their experience and knowledge with us all. Alison Mears and Jonsara Ruth from the Parsons New School Healthy Materials Lab started the weekend enlightening us and encouraging us to research and choose non-toxic finishes; Jacob Deva Racusin shared insights from the United Nations new report on ‘Building Materials and the Climate’; we got our hands dirty and learned about hemp work by First Nations Peoples with Jennifer Martin; and Mattie Mead pointed the way forward with his talk on Hempitecture and their quest to scale manufacturing of natural materials. There were of course many more workshops, presentations, and informal conversations with our peers that will undoubtedly shape the way we all think about our role in designing and constructing the built environment. Oh, did we mention the coconut macaroons or the jackfruit bbq!?!
Our buckets have been filled and our imaginations reignited.
We hope to see you at future NaBA events! Please stay tuned to our website and social media pages, and subscribe to our newsletter using the link at the bottom of our home page. Thank you!
