Seeking Member Input

Many of you expressed interest in getting involved in the Committees / Work Groups that were introduced at the Member Meeting and followed up at the lunch tables at Rocky Mountain Natural Building Conference.  Below is the list of committees that we are looking to staff.  We can make big strides on some of these projects with just a few additional hours per month. 

Two ways to get involved:

2) Fill out our Member Survey by clicking on the link. At the end of the survey is a spot for you to share your enthusiasm and what you would like to help with.

Outreach and Connections

  • Quarterly Newsletter

  • Digital Asset Management

    • Website updates, forum page, bookstore, database

    • Social Media: 1-2 posts per week, use scheduling app

    • Email list

  • Strategic Partnerships

    • Colorado Green Builders Guild (CGBG), CASBA, Community Rebuilds, Ontario Natural Building Coalition, RMI, trades education, AIA CEUs, Biobased Materials, universities, etc.

  • Helping establish regional branches: Midwest, Southeast, Northwest, etc.

  • Recruit and engage members and sponsors 

Ideal skill-sets: tech-savy, excellent written communication, graphic design, outgoing and passionate

Projects and Events

  • Open-source Presentation = Bio-Based Construction: Materials and Methods

  • Online database of BioConstruciton projects, professionals, material vendors

  • Resource List of Lenders and Insurers for natural buildings

  • Finding and promoting local community building projects

  • Pilgrimage Church in Nebraska will be 100 years old, funded restoration project?

  • Off-year gathering?

  • Prelim planning 2027 conference 

Ideal skill-sets: organized, industry professionals, community leaders, networking enthusiasts

Research and Innovation

  • Conduct and compile research on the performance, safety, and sustainability of natural materials

  • Develop partnerships with universities, labs, and architects for collaborative studies and pilot projects

  • Create and compile white papers, case studies, and technical guides to distribute to builders, policymakers, and the public

  • Support small businesses in their growth via networking opportunities, seminars/workshops, funding partnerships

Ideal skill-sets: tapped-in to industry, advocacy, out-of-the-box thinking, good at research
